Westhampton Penthouse

Our clients, who split time between Texas and Virginia, hired us to lead the design of their new Richmond penthouse, from space planning, custom millwork, and elegant finishes to custom furnishings and the finest decorative touches. Aiming for equal parts formality and comfort, we were entrusted to curate new and antique furnishings from across the globe, resulting in the haven they envisioned for entertaining family and friends.

Windsor Farms Colonial Revival

This house was the ideal fit in many ways for a lively family of five, but it needed updating throughout and was ripe with opportunity for an improved space plan on the first floor. A complete redesign of the kitchen, laundry, mudroom, and butler’s pantry spaces now better serve the family’s needs and improve the flow between rooms. The home is now beautifully composed of new and old furnishings and rich layers of color, pattern, and texture that reflect the vibrancy and character of the family.

Classic Cape

Just after moving to this charming Cape from an elegant equestrian homestead, our clients hired us to design a renovation of the kitchen and primary suite and to fill in the decorative details throughout the home to complement their existing furnishings. We carefully selected the materials, colors, and interior architectural details to harmonize with the classic architecture of their new home and their treasured antiques, art, and hunt country accouterments. The result is a fresh variation on a Richmond classic that feels warm and familiar to its owners.

Historic Longwood Estate

Longwood House, a historic Federal-style farmhouse circa 1815, is home to Longwood University’s president and his family. Our charge was to update the home in a manner that supported not only the young family living there but also the university community and guests for special events frequently held at the home. Select early antiques and an impressive art collection from the University conveyed with the project, and we enhanced these elements with appointments that honor the history of the home and increase the functionality, flow, and appeal of the space.

Stone Country House

We were honored to assist our clients with furnishings for their beautiful new home on an expansive estate that rivals many parks in its undulating terrain, towering trees, and long vistas. We organized furniture plans to optimize the extraordinary surrounding views and selected furnishings, textiles, and antique rugs to complement the homeowner’s vast art collection and the beautiful custom millwork throughout the home.

Walnut Hill

Our clients had long dreamed of a stone home in the country with lots of land, and we were thrilled to help them bring it to life with careful planning and collaboration. Years later, we continue to consult on additions and enhancements to their homestead and share in the joy this special property brings to our clients and their family and friends.

Westhampton Office

Our client desired a high-end residential feel for their new office space in a mixed-use property. From the space planning, millwork details, and the look and feel of the finishes and furnishings, in many ways, we approached this project as we would a residential project but with the programming considerations required for comfortable and efficient business functions.

Designer House Den

We were honored to be chosen to design a room for the 2023 Richmond Symphony League Designer House, an Italian Renaissance Revival home built in 1915 and designed by renowned architect Duncan Lee. Our room, the Den, is full of remarkable Tudor-style architectural details—richly stained oak wall paneling, a plaster relief barrel vault ceiling, jib doors, and a monumental gothic fireplace. We followed these visual cues in conceiving a space ideal for unplugged family gatherings that honors the original character and warmth of the room. A vintage English Knole sofa reimagined in a whimsical pattern set forth a dynamic palette that we carried through in custom wool draperies, cinnamon linen club chairs, a collection of antique boxes, a vintage Moroccan rug, and a collection of artwork that enlivens and enriches the space.
